REVIEW

Batman: Arkham City (ENGLISH)

Batman: Arkham City (Nick Arundel and Ron Fish). As a continuation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, in Arkham City, the main theme evolves towards a more epic state. The dark tone of primary and secondary themes continues providing with credibility to the main and secondary characters, such as the professor Hugo Strange.

Though the setting has grown immensely with regard to Arkham Asylum, the music continues having an intimate aspect more focused on places, confrontations and concrete villains than to the flight, displacement and exploration of Batman for Arkham City's vast setting, resembling for moments the stamp that Danny Elfman was composing on the Batman created by Tim Burton, especially in the moments in that the choir appears. The soundtrack is a wide catalogue of action and thriller themes, among which, in occasions, the main theme is suggested. Not excessively memorable, with the exception of the main theme, it turns interesting for those that were playing the game and want to remember the situations lived along the multiple places visited by Batman and Catwoman. As peculiarity, the rule for naming the tracks has been the use of concrete dialog phrases of the characters, which makes difficult to locate the tracks without knowing in what place and against to what villain the scene develops.

As a complement to the score album of the video game, there was released an album of songs inspired by Batman's universe in 3 versions: one with 11 tracks, other one that was included in the Collector's Edition of the video game and that was adding an extra track to the previous 11, and another deluxe digital edition that was including the already 11 mentioned songs, plus 6 tracks of Nick Arundel's score. But this album of songs is only a commercial complement and the songs do not appear in the course of the video game.

Batman: Arkham City (ESPAÑOL)

Batman: Arkham City (Nick Arundel y Ron Fish).
